Ashford-headquartered, HR GO plc has acquired Eastbourne-based, Sussex Recruitment Ltd and its specialist division, Gel Resourcing Ltd.


Sussex Recruitment is a well-established independent recruitment consultancy that has provided employment solutions across the South East and UK. Stephen and Margaret Hopkinson, who together formed Sussex Recruitment in 2007, have retained a substantial minority stake in the new business which Stephen will continue to manage under its new name, HR GO Recruitment (Sussex) Ltd.

Gel Resourcing was set up by Stephen Hopkinson and Chris Rose as a specialist division of Sussex Recruitment and specialises in the recruitment of high-calibre people for permanent and contract roles in occupational health, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life sciences sectors throughout the UK and Europe.

Chris Rose, the firm’s managing director, will continue to run Gel Resourcing and both businesses will continue to operate from their offices in Seaside, Eastbourne.

asb law’s corporate finance associate, Daniel Tozer, led the team managing the transaction for HR GO plc and commented, “We are delighted to assist HR GO plc with another successful acquisition. We enjoy working with the HR GO team and being part of their strategic growth plans”.
