Get the best outcome for your children

How we can help

In any dispute involving children, our primary focus is always on their welfare. We have an accredited Children Specialist and we are all members of Resolution, an organisation committed to promoting a non-confrontational approach – so your and your child’s needs are always looked after every step of the way.

We have extensive experience in dealing with disputes between parents. Where appropriate, we will encourage mediation, or solicitor-led negotiations, to help you reach an amicable arrangement which is in the best interest of the children.

Child living arrangements (formerly known as Child Custody)

How do I decide where my children live and who they see?

If your relationship has broken down, or circumstances have changed, you may not be able to resolve where your children should live, or who they should spend time with. We lay out all your options and then provide clear and honest guidance on your best course of action.

Where appropriate, we recommend mediation and negotiations so that an amicable agreement can be reached for the benefit of the children. Unfortunately, there are times when your child is best served by the court intervening. In this case, our skilled, experienced family solicitors will support you throughout, and strive to get the best outcome for you and your children.

Child relocation

What if my children are relocating?

Being asked to let your child move abroad, or even to another area without you can be a difficult process. It can lead to disputes over custody and access, but also concerns over issues such as schooling and contact with wider family members. No matter what your circumstances, we can advise you on your options and the correct procedures in the absence of an agreement between yourself and your former partner.

If you’re worried your partner may have taken your children overseas without your permission, we can help you act fast. We can make an urgent application to the court and work with the necessary authorities to protect your children. We will make sure you always know what’s happening and strive to get them back to you as quickly as possible.
