Celebrating success with this year's Gatwick Diamond Business Award winners

GDBA 2018Following the excitement of a fantastic Gatwick Diamond Business Awards evening back in March, the category sponsors and winners were recently reunited for a celebration breakfast at the London Gatwick Copthorne Hotel.

asb law is delighted to sponsor the Award for Manufacturing Business of the Year. The breakfast was an opportunity to congratulate the winners and reflect on a very enjoyable Awards evening, hosted by popular entertainer Brian Conley.

Russell Bell, Senior Consultant at asb law, said: “There are some fantastic manufacturing businesses across the region and it’s important that we recognise and celebrate their success. The sector confronts many challenges including skills shortages and an uncertain economy but continues to deliver competitive and sustainable growth, driving innovation and export markets.”

Following a comprehensive judging process, Denbies Wine Estate, Acro Aircraft Seating and PVL UK were shortlisted for Manufacturing Business of the Year. On the night, PVL was announced as the winner and we were delighted to present the Award to Nick Broom and his team from the Burgess Hill-based vehicle safety markings business.

Neil Gardner, Marketing Manager at asb law, commented: “PVL is an impressive business - there is a high attention to detail evident across the whole company and they fully understand their customers’ needs. Their products attract business from global markets and increased export provides exciting growth opportunities. Nick Broom and his team demonstrated excellent operational efficiency, continuous improvement and strong production control in their manufacturing processes. Innovation was also fully embraced with the development of new materials technology to differentiate and increase the capabilities of their vehicle safety marking products.”

It proved to be a great evening for PVL, who also picked-up the Award for Supply Chain Excellence. Nick Broom, CEO, explained: “I am so proud of the PVL team and what we have been recognised for with these awards. I was satisfactorily delighted to make finalists in the four awards we entered, but to win outright in two has exceeded our hopes. We’ve used the awards entry, judging process and feedback as a mechanism to gain impartial feedback on the entire business from an external perspective and brought changes in where we’ve felt it would make us a better business to work for and with. We strive to be the best in not just the region, but our sector and around the world; these awards help confirm that we are moving in the right direction.”
