asb law supports Local Business Accelerators scheme

asb law corporate finance solicitor Rebecca Burford is involved in mentoring three Sussex starter companies that have won advertising support and mentorship thanks to the Local Business Accelerators scheme, a scheme devised by the Newspaper Society and backed by the Prime Minister and one of TV’s ‘dragons’, Deborah Meaden.

Rebecca was involved in judging the competition entrants along with Peter Sutton, MD of PWM Communications, and Richard Harmer, group advertising manager of Sussex Newspapers.  All three will work with the winning businesses - Classroom Capers, Ironing & Cleaning 4 U, and Steph’s Free From Cakes - to help them grow their very different enterprises.

According to Rebecca, a member of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs and a certified SFEDI business mentor, each business demonstrated unique ideas, opportunity for growth and passion:  “The scores of entrants were of an extremely high calibre, and choosing the winners from such a diverse range of businesses took a lot of deliberation.  The creativity, professionalism and quality of service demonstrated were commendable, and we are looking forward to working with these worthy winners providing commercial support and legal guidance to help them build on their success.”
