Employment Briefing - September 2011

We hope you had an enjoyable summer and are returning suitably refreshed as we move into autumn.  As is often the case with employment law, there will be new challenges over the coming months, particularly with the introduction of The Agency Worker Regulations on 1 October 2011.  However, we are keen to hear how you have managed with the changes that came into effect earlier this year, such as whether you have had employees that have requested additional paternity leave.  Do let us know.

In this briefing we will be looking at social media, an area that is already having a noticeable impact on the workplace and one which will only become more significant with the ever-increasing use of e-networking.

In addition, we have a couple of interesting cases to bring to your attention regarding a dismissal for refusing to take a pay cut, and the importance of a well drafted termination letter.
