The distribution of wealth can, sadly, lead to misunderstanding, conflict and recrimination.
We were recently involved in challenging the Will of an elderly gentleman who had removed any gift to his only son from his Will following an argument about a social arrangement. The gentleman was not always easy to deal with, but despite the reservations of the solicitor he instructed, he was well within his rights to remove any gift to his son.
At the time of his death some two years later the father and son had long been reconciled, but the father had not changed his Will back in favour of his son.
We acted for the son in challenging the Will which left almost all of a substantial estate to various charities and succeeded in recovering some money for him.
