Employment disputes

Dealing properly with an internal dispute can turn a negative matter into a positive experience, one that demonstrates your sense of fairness and willingness to resolve issues.

Workplace disputes take up enormous amounts of time, time that could be spent on more positive forms of employee engagement. However, dealing with them is a necessary part of managing a work environment.

We firmly believe you can turn an internal dispute into a positive experience just by handling it properly right from the start.

We have a large team of experts in this field who can act quickly and decisively to make sure that your confidential information and customer relationships are protected at all times.

Managing an internal dispute
Our first priority is to work with you to resolve the dispute quickly in order to minimise the impact on the business.

Mediation can be an extremely effective tool, and you may wish to call on one of our trained mediators to help avoid the dispute worsening.

Grievances and discipline
Grievances and disciplinaries need to be carefully managed. We provide the legal support to ensure processes and outcomes are fair and robust, and we will directly support those investigating the issues to analyse the evidence and ensure that nothing gets missed.

We help you to reach the right outcome for you, and to minimise the knock-on effects of disengagement.

Employment Tribunals
Not all attempts to resolve issues will have a happy ending. Employment Tribunals are almost inevitable in the modern workplace, for both small and large organisations.

Our approach to dealing with Employment Tribunals is simple: we ask you what you want the outcome to be, and work back from there to come up with a strategy that delivers it.

We then manage the claim with you and set out what information we need, by when, and from whom.

You are advised of key developments and costs throughout – so that you have complete control of expenditure.

Sometimes cases settle – either before formal proceedings are issued or even during them. We are experts in negotiating settlements and concluding compromise agreements to ensure that you get the best deal.

Employment disputes in court
As well as Employment Tribunals, we can represent and support you in County Court and High Court cases in relation to such matters as:

  • breach of contract
  • theft of confidential information
  • breach of restrictive covenants
  • injunctions
