Stephen joined asb law’s family team in February 2018. He is consistently ranked in Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 UK legal directories, being described by clients as “excellent, bright and tenacious” (Legal 500 2017).
Stephen has an excellent track record in high-value matrimonial finance cases acting for clients in the South East, London and abroad and is praised by clients for his "calm, sensible and reliable" approach (Chambers & Partners 2017).
He is also a trained collaborative lawyer.
Before qualifying as a solicitor Stephen worked in the insurance industry for several years and qualified as an Associate of The Chartered Insurance Institute. Upon joining a law firm in 1994 he advised on professional negligence issues. He became a partner in 1996. Stephen then started to specialise in family law and upon moving to Kent in 2009 he developed a team specialising in complex matrimonial financial cases as well as issues relating to children. Stephen focuses on complex financial cases, particularly those involving trusts, foreign assets, tax issues and company assets. Stephen has also acted for third parties or companies who have been joined as parties to matrimonial proceedings. He advises on cohabitation agreements, as well as pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements for business owners and for “high net worth” clients.
A member of Resolution, Stephen has several reported cases and has written articles in The Lawyer, Family Law Journal, The Times Online and Spears.
