Leading serious injury and insurance lawyer specialising in high value catastrophic injury claims, particularly relating to brain and spinal injury
Francis is recognised as a leading specialist in the field of brain injury and has dealt with a significant number of high value claims, many resulting in seven-figure settlements. Throughout his personal injury career his interest has extended far beyond maximising compensation awards; one of his key concerns has been to enable the effective rehabilitation of clients.
Having developed an enviable network of professionals in the south east to support his clients in their recovery and improve their quality of life, Francis founded the innovative Brain Injury Group (BIG), which was launched in 2011, and remains a director. BIG is a national association of brain injury legal specialists who work closely with a number of other professionals to support people with brain injuries.
Francis is also an acclaimed specialist in the field of local authority liability law and is frequently instructed on large cases by authorities across the south east.
Francis was Chair of Headway Hurstwood Park for 6 years, stepping down at the end of 2015 but remains an active Trustee and Board Member. Headway is a charity providing care, rehabilitation and support services at both a day centre and in the local community to those affected by brain injury; he is also a founder and Chair of the Sussex Acquired Brain Injury Forum (SABIF), an active organisation promoting awareness and services for brain injury in the Sussex community.
Francis is a member of the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) and the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He is an accredited member of the Head Injury Solicitors List, and a qualified mediator.

What our clients say...
"ASB have always communicated to the family in a caring manner which in turn has given us comfort in very difficult and trying times. Everything undertaken has been explained and time given to ensure we were comfortable in current and next steps being undertaken. The whole team have been excellent in their approach, which has been very helpful and demonstrates the company’s ethos and culture. There was a ‘family’ feel to how we were supported and guide, rather than a cold corporate style of management"
"Everyone who works at asb looks after you and makes sure everything is as it should be. Francis supported me through the good and the bad and I feel I couldn’t have had a better lawyer who genuinely cares and wants what’s best for the client. He also helped me on a personal note when he could. Talking with Francis in person or by telephone was always a pleasure. Francis ensured that I received the best treatment for (the) rehab process which helped my recovery to be a lot quicker. Thanks to all of this, I now live independently with the support. I can’t bear to think how I would be now without it. A huge thanks to Francis and everyone at asb."
"Your solicitor F. L. Scott, he made us feel as he was part of our family and we felt safe in his hands."
