Humphrey is something of a legend in the travel and aviation sector, with a career that spans 40 years.

He has dealt with the sale, purchase and lease of large aircraft from and to airlines around the globe, as well as engines and aircraft parts, maintenance and overhaul contracts, and has advised on general aviation matters including international route designation into the UK, immigration, fares and agreements with tour operators and travel agencies.

Humphrey has extensive experience in aviation related litigation around the world, including the seizure and release of impounded aircraft, arbitration and mediation hearings and acting for the owners of aircraft on major insurance claims including appearing before the Canadian Air Safety Board in respect of a major fatal DC8 accident.

He frequently speaks at international conferences on a wide range of aviation matters including operating leases, repossessions and disaster litigation including terrorism.

He is a member of the Aviation Club of the UK, ISTAT, the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Aeronautical Law Committee (a former Chairman) and the Committee on Travel & Tourism Law. Humphrey is also an associate member of the American Bar Association and active in its Aircraft Finance & Contracts Division, an Associate member of the Royal Aeronautical Society and frequently speaks at international conferences on a wide range of aviation matters.
