Fraud at work – signals and strategies - Crawley
Sep 13th, 2007
Innovis House, High Street
Crawley, West Sussex
Useful to all business owners and managers with particular relevance to financial directors, internal auditors, risk managers, company secretaries, in-house legal and HR directors.

Headline estimates suggest that corporate fraud may be costing UK companies up to £72bn a year. With much of that estimate unreported or undetected, measurement is hardly an exact science but the fact remains that the incidence of fraud is a growing problem that affects organisations of all shapes and sizes.

Every business should have protocols in place to tackle suspected incidents swiftly, effectively and legally. Given the complex nature of many frauds, the management of any investigation needs to be both sensitive and meticulous.

This free half-day seminar offers practical guidance from respected independent experts as well as our own highly regarded lawyers. We will consider how to identify and respond to possible fraud, the role of forensic investigation, how to deal with staff suspected of being involved and the civil remedies available.

  • Detecting fraud and your first response – Samantha Whitlock, asb law
  • Verifying your suspicions – Rebecca Thornley-Gibson, asb law
  • Forensic investigations – computer and digital evidence – Julian Parker, Data Genetics International Ltd
  • Taking your case to court – Richard Morgan, Maitland Counsel

The seminar is taking place on Thursday 13 September at Innovis House, 108 High Street, Crawley, West Sussex - see map - from 09.00am until 12.30pm, followed by a buffet lunch.  (We are also running the same event on Thursday 20 September at Horizon House, Eclipse Park, Maidstone -  see details on our forthcoming events page.
